Ryan Garcia was accustomed to getting a million eyeballs and acknowledgment for his career until now. But lately, Garcia found a new fan in one of the scariest legends of the sport, Mike Tyson.
The baddest man on the planet was on a podcast with Joe Rogan, where he named his finest boxers of this era. One such name on his list was that of the Lightweight fighter, Ryan Garcia.
“That little guy Ryan Garcia, he’s hot s***!” said Tyson.

This statement caught Garcia’s attention. He expressed his joy over the legend’s comments with talkSPORT. He affirmed, “That was an honor, to see Mike Tyson speak that about you. I was like, ‘Man, I wouldn’t have even cared if he talked s*** about me.’
“It’s the fact that it was Mike Tyson that really knows my name. I was like, ‘Okay, anything anybody said don’t matter no more, Mike Tyson called me hot s***’.”
Garcia is set to take on Luke Campbell for the WBC interim lightweight title. The duo will fight on January 2nd in a thrilling contest to set the year in motion. Before this colossal challenge, inspiring words from Mike Tyson would really lift Garcia’s confidence onto another level.
“I couldn’t believe it, Mike Tyson really talked about me, that was amazing,” he added.

The undefeated Garcia is ready to take on his toughest combatant. ‘King’ is one of the brightest prospects to come out of America. A win in this fight will directly put him on top for a title shot.

In the aforementioned interview, Garcia shed some light on this fight. ‘King’ said, “I knew Luke Campbell was the better fight; I knew Luke Campbell was obviously the tougher fight and I just know that I’m ready for this match-up.”
Nothing can be better to see these young guns colliding to begin the new year. With both the fighters ready, this seems like a cracker of a contest.
