Thanks to his comeback to the ring at 54, ‘Iron Mike’ is never far from the front pages. And now, the former heavyweight champion of the world has confirmed his trainer for his next fight.

‘Iron Mike’ is coming off a successful exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr. back in November. Since then, rumors have linked him to several opponents. And after lots of controversy and breakdown in negotiations, Tyson will most likely face Lennox Lewis. And he will have a familiar face in his corner.

The 50-6 boxer spoke to ESNEWS on YouTube and addressed the issue. When asked if Rafael Cordeiro would be his trainer for his next fight, the former heavyweight champion replied with, “Absolutely. Beautiful man.”

Thus, this comment not only confirmed that Cordeiro would be part of Tyson’s team but also showed what Tyson thinks of the famous trainer. And given the role Rafael Cordeiro has played in Tyson’s transformation, it is no surprise to see the legendary boxer talk so highly of his trainer.
