Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson had a tough life filled with hardships. From his childhood, Tyson was exposed to an environment of violence often finding himself inside juvenile correction homes. Even later in his life, Iron Mike found himself ending up in prison.

In an episode of his podcast Hotboxin, Iron Mike detailed how he was scared during his time in prison. He stated that it was a struggle, but he was hopeful that God would guide him through these tough times.

It’s a trip but it’s good. It’s a struggle out here but um that’s what God puts you. Can you handle this struggle? You say you want to do the right thing. This is one big school, this world, you know what I mean.” he said

Mike Tyson details his experience in prison

He then revealed that he was sentenced to 3 years in jail. However, he was scared that he would eventually end up in the real world, which was more ‘savage’ according to him.

I only did three years. I’m scared to death. I heard the helicopters and everything come because now they’re gonna take me away from my comfortness back to this fucking Savage world you know and I was scared that was really scary.” He added.

However, Tyson then claimed that one needs to have a great support system to overcome this. He also stated that the world will give anyone a second chance if you make people around you happy. “You have to have a great support system you know and you do and you have to just know you make people happy. Don’t ever beat yourself up. This world will give you another chance, don’t ever beat yourself up. ” He said.

Despite Tyson’s past transgressions, he has become a much better and thoughtful man. Iron Mike has been through a lot in his life, which naturally made him do things many would consider immoral. However, he changed his attitude towards life as he grew older and has now managed to turn it around in a positive manner.
