Mike Tyson was involved in petty crimes and sheer poverty when Cus D’Amato transitioned all of that ill-energy into honing a boxing legend. If not for the sport of pugilism, Tyson may have never become the icon that he is today. However, not all of it was easy for him.

Aged 55, Tyson doesn’t hesitate to open up on his bygone days. He recently sat with the Club Shay Shay podcast and talked about various things. From pitching opponents for Errol Spence Jr. to desiring a showdown between Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua, ‘Iron’ Mike sent the boxing fans into a frenzy several times. Meanwhile, Tyson also made a shocking revelation about the factor which he hated the most about boxing.

Mike Tyson said, “No [I didn’t hate boxing]. I hated the training. The training is a monster. That’s literally testing. So, that training is the monster. But I did it anyway.”

Tyson became a world champion at the age of 20, the youngest ever in the sport’s history. Following that, Tyson saw several million-dollar fights and big events. However, he never let his hardcore regime go away. Mike Tyson always kept his boxing skills in training mode and was a force of terror in the ring.

Nevertheless, he lost his shape after retirement and became overweight. Mike Tyson also lost his finances and became bankrupt in 2003. That said, he revived all of it back and re-embraced the hardcore training once again at his dotage.
Mike Tyson is a strong man
The former heavyweight champion returned to pugilism at the age of 54. The shocking move came out of nowhere and Tyson imposed a new wave in the sport. He ended his 15-year-long hiatus from the ring and took on Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout.

Tyson regained his physical perks ahead of the fight and hired MMA mastermind, Rafael Cordero, as his trainer. Therefore, Tyson went through all the gruesome training again, which he now describes as a ‘monster’. This also assures Tyson’s love for the sport, which hasn’t decreased to this day.
