Is Mike Tyson right about Marvin Hagler?

Tyson, who is considered one of the best warriors in the sport has made no secret of his admiration for Hagler. Therefore, for him to say the same about Hagler shows just how good ‘Marvelous Marvin’ was. But is Tyson right?

Like Tyson, Hagler came from a poor and difficult upbringing to take over the boxing world. He was the middleweight champion for seven consecutive years from 1980 to 1987. In addition, he even became the undisputed middleweight champion of the world.

Hagler also took on the best and beat them. He fought Tommy Hearns and gave fans one of boxing’s classics. Furthermore, his fight against Roberto Duran will be etched in boxing history forever. Therefore, Hagler proved his greatness in the ring.

Thus, Tyson is right in calling Hagler one of boxing’s greatest warriors. He never shied away from a challenge and always entertained in the ring. This was something even Mike Tyson continued in his career.

What do you make of this high praise for Marvin Hagler from Mike Tyson?
