Legendary heavyweight Mike Tyson has stunned the boxing world by revealing he’ll lace up the gloves once again to face retired great Floyd Mayweather next year. While the two have shared a long history of tension, few ever imagined they would actually step into the ring against each other – even in an exhibition.

Adding to the surprise, Tyson revealed the comeback of his one-man show, Return of the Mike, set to run exclusively at four Hard Rock Live venues across the country beginning this November. He is currently touring New York to promote both the show and his upcoming fight next year, and during his appearances, he also paused to pay tribute to the victims of 9/11.

Mike Tyson honors the victims

Recently, Tyson took to Instagram to share a few pictures from his visit to New York City, where he attended the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund’s annual Charity Day event. The event, held in remembrance of the 9/11 attacks, brings together celebrity ambassadors who help raise money for various charities by participating in trading activities on the firm’s floor.

“Honoring 9/11 victims at @cfrelieffund while raising money for charity,” Mike Tyson wrote in a short tribute. He wasn’t alone—other stars like Rosie Perez, Kenan Thompson, and several others also joined the initiative.

The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, a nonprofit founded in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, stands as a direct response to the tragedy. Cantor Fitzgerald, a global financial services firm, suffered one of the greatest corporate losses on that day, with 658 employees – nearly two-thirds of its New York workforce – killed when American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower, where its offices spanned floors 101 through 105, just above the impact zone.

Against this poignant backdrop, Tyson also shared updates about the return of his one-man show.

The upcoming show will be Tyson’s first stage performance since his 36-city, three-month national tour, Mike Tyson: The Undisputed Truth, in 2013. This time, he promises a raw, no-filter look into his life, blending humor, heartbreak, and hard truths for an unflinching and deeply personal experience. “A lot has happened since the last time I did a one-man show,” Tyson told ESPN.

“I get to tell you guys about all of my new lawsuits that you don’t know about and some other pretty exciting stuff… a few sad stories and a totally different insight on the things you may have already known about,” he added. Written with his wife, Lakiha ‘Kiki’ Tyson, the show will cover his struggles with addiction and mental health, alongside candid reflections on his career.

It looks like while touring New York, Mike Tyson also took time to support a charity event. But the bigger question is – are fans more excited for his upcoming one-man show or his highly anticipated exhibition fight?
