Mike Tyson is one of the biggest names in the sport of boxing. Back in his prime, ‘Iron Mike’ was a bonafide star throughout the world and was part of some of the biggest fights in the world. And even today, Tyson is never far away from the headlines.

Boxing is one of the most lucrative sports in the world. And the superstars of the sport live lavish luxury lifestyles, thanks to their earnings. It was no different with Mike Tyson. And now, the former world champion has revealed the highest paycheck he received during his professional career.

The 50-6 boxer spoke to rapper Polo G on an episode of ‘Hotboxin with Mike Tyson,’ and spoke about money in boxing. After telling Polo G and co-host Henry Cejudo about his first earning of $500 from a fight, Cejudo asked him about his biggest payday.

Tyson replied, “I had quite a few… like 35 [million]. I make that now, I’m 55 n***a.” Thus, this comment from Tyson showed how much of a global star he was. When Tyson was active, $35 million was a mammoth sum of money. Some of the biggest names in the sport today make that kind of money.

The revelation from Mike Tyson showed just his incredible earning capacity. Moreover, it proved that boxing is truly a lucrative sport. However, Mike Tyson and money have not always been a success story. So what did the former heavyweight champion do with all his money?

Ultimately, things did not work out well for the legendary boxer. He had to file for bankruptcy in 2003 after bad financial management and divorce settlements left him with large debts.

Despite this, he has turned it around, and as he mentioned, now makes similar amounts of money even without fighting professionally.
