Mike Tyson was an iconic knockout artist back in the 1990s. The heavyweight division needed a star like him in every sense who could accrue millions of fans’ attention towards the ‘Sweet Science’ space. That said, Tyson in no time rose to super-stardom, and he truly relished his time in the ring.

However, after coming back from prison in 1992, Tyson’s love for the sport wasn’t the same. Recently, ‘Iron’ Mike was in a chat with Shannon Sharpe. Here, the latter asked Tyson whether he was the same boxer or the same person after coming back from jail.

To which Tyson responded, “Pretty much both. Pretty much both, yeah. I looked at boxing totally as a business. Let’s get money, let’s get money, and let’s try to change our life, get married, and all that stuff. I didn’t have the love for it no more. I lost the love for it.”

In 1992, ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ was convicted in a case and he was sentenced to six years in prison and four-year probation. However, after serving less than three years in jail, Tyson was released in 1995.

In the same year, he took a couple of fights, beating Peter McNeeley and Buster Mathis Jr.

In 1996, he met arch-rival Evander Holyfield in the ring and lost via a vicious T/KO in round 11. The duo even re-matched and Tyson was disqualified in this bout for biting Holyfield’s ear. Post that, his career was full of trials wherein he claimed a few wins, a couple of his fights were turned into no contests and he ended up losing a few.

After fighting for two decades, Mike Tyson hung up his gloves in 2005. He signed off with 50 wins under the wing, and 6 losses in total.
