‘The Baddest Man on The Planet’ Mike Tyson, has never had any qualms about speaking his mind. From giving out insider secrets to opening up about his wild, and often outrageous, endeavors, the champ has done it all. In the same vein, his son, Amir Tyson, is an equally outspoken individual. Meta had recently announced that they would be ‘channeling’ Elon Musk and introducing paid verification for Instagram and Facebook. And the younger Tyson had a few choice words to say about this.

Meta chief, Mark Zuckerberg, took to social media to announce that the company plans to introduce paid verification services. And that the service would first roll out in Australia. Moreover, talking about the introduction of the same, Zuckerberg wrote, “This new feature is about increasing authenticity and security across our services.”
In fact, this feature will also give users the chance to get the coveted blue tick.

An Instagram page called Wealth recently shared this news on their page. And also revealed that it would cost web users USD 11.99, while iOS users will have to pay USD 14.99. Tyson, who is a verified Instagram user, reshared the post as a Story. He further wrote, “So wack man. Everyone’s going to be fake verified now.”

As Meta plans to roll out this service. It is sure worth speculating if they are putting themselves in line for heavy backlash from users.
Amir Tyson was not the only one who spoke up
A lot of Instagram users were disappointed with the idea of paid verification. In fact, a lot of users took to social media to share their thoughts about the same. Verified users were quick to express their dismay. Rob Mendez mentioned, “What a joke. Many of us have earned a blue check mark and now you can just buy it.”

Meanwhile, Danny Baxendale said, “They should focus on getting rid of the fake and scam accounts first.”
On the other hand, a lot of users were worried about the potential influx of fake influencers. Princeton Clark mentioned, “Wow man… here we go. As if the fake accounts and fake clout weren’t bad enough as it is.”
