Mike Tyson Says His Mother’s Death Was ‘One of the Best Things’ That Ever Happened to Him

Mike Tyson lost his mother at an early age, after which he became the youngest heavyweight world champion ever in the sport of boxing. Despite his troubled childhood, Tyson could reach the top of the world with his unprecedented success. While his mother couldn’t see his son enjoy the stardom, Tyson recently made a sensational claim about her and stunned the fans.
‘The Baddest Man On The Planet’ billed his mother’s death as the best occurrence in his life. But also justified his statements with some uncanny explanations. In an exclusive chat with Club ShayShay, Mike Tyson talked about several things about his life. However, the statements on his mother seemingly grabbed the most attention.

The heavyweight star said, “You know, one of the best things that ever happened to me is that my mother died. Because my other would have made me babies. There’s no way I would ever got into a street fight. No way I would ever learn to stand up for myself.”
Tyson grew up in Brownsville, Brooklyn, which was one of the roughest neighborhoods in New York. His life began in the ghetto, and he has admitted to being in jail multiple times even before his teenage. That said, Mike Tyson was new to the success and stardom that he fetched under the guidance of Cus D’Amato.
Was Mike Tyson Adopted?
Tyson’s mother, Lorna Tyson, died due to cancer in 1982, three years before ‘Iron’ became a pro boxer. According to Sports Illustrated, Tyson had revealed, he could never make his mother proud or happy.
“My mother really did a lot. Always going to police stations to get my a** out. She would beat my a** so bad, in front of the police,” said Tyson.
Mike Tyson had a strange relationship with his mother
Tyson couldn’t really spend much time with her mother as he lost her while he was merely 16. ‘Iron’ has talked about his mother on several occasions and has always shown his love and respect for her. However, Mike Tyson has also billed her as ‘aggressive’ in the past.
