Mike Tyson Slammed Hulu Over ‘Unauthorized Mini Series’ In an Uncovered Post

Mike Tyson is one of the most successful and polarizing athletes in history. He has lived a life of rags to riches, but the audience is unaware of many other details. The boxer has had a tough life and prevailed through the difficulties to become one of the most influential figures in the world of boxing. As such, streaming giant Hulu is releasing a series based on Mike Tyson’s life. But the boxer is not happy with it, and here’s his take on the subject.
As per ‘dailymail’, Mike Tyson wrote in an Instagram post, “Hulu’s announcement to do an unauthorized mini-series of the Tyson story without compensation, although unfortunate, isn’t surprising. This announcement on the heels of social disparities in our country is a prime example of how Hulu’s corporate greed led to this tone-deaf cultural misappropriation of the Tyson life story.”

He added – “To make this announcement during Black History Month only confirms Hulu’s concern for dollars over respect for black story rights. Hollywood needs to be more sensitive to black experiences, especially after all that has transpired in 2020. The real Mike Tyson authorized story is in development and will be announced in coming days.”
The teaser for the limited eight-episode Hulu series ‘Mike’ has been released recently. It stars ‘Moonlight’ movie fame Trevante Rhodes as Tyson. It also stars actors like Laura Harrier, Harvey Keitel, Russell Hornsby, and Li Eubanks.
Surprisingly, ‘Iron Mike’ later deleted the Instagram post. Tyson has not spoken about it much and is quite upset with Hulu. He has mentioned another Mike Tyson series. Let’s take a look at that.

The show will be created by Hollywood legends Martin Scorsese and Antoine Fuqua. Although Foxx and Tyson have mentioned the series in interviews, a teaser or trailer has not been released yet. Tyson seems to be excited about this series starring Foxx and has shown his full support, unlike the Hulu series.
The former heavyweight champion is obviously upset because of Hulu. He claims to have not received any compensation from them, even though they will benefit financially from his life story. Although disappointed, Tyson doesn’t seem to be surprised by the streaming giants’ actions.
