Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson is arguably one of the biggest sporting events the world has ever seen. Both the boxers have claimed it to be their hardest fight for different reasons and fans are ready to see both of them collide.

The fight is scheduled for 15 November at the AT&T Stadium in Texas which has a nearly 100,000 capacity. According to several reports, the AT&T Stadium might be sold out completely making it a grand spectacle. Furthermore, with Netflix streaming the fight free for its subscribers, this match might break a decade-old record in terms of viewership.

Reports share a whopping number

Ahead of the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight several reports have come out predicting the potential global audience size for the fight. The report states, “260 million households subscribe to Netflix.” With the fight being free of any extra cost, most boxing fans and enthusiasts are likely to switch on the fight.

The report further adds, “Assuming 2 people per household, which is conservative, that means our audience is over 500M.” While the number might not come to exact fruition, this is still a massive number for an event like this.

Currently, the May 2, 2015 match between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao holds the record for most PPV buys with approximately 4.6 million in the United States. Termed the “The Fight of the Century,” the fight was held at a sold-out MGM Grand in Las Vegas and saw Mayweather emerge victorious via a Unanimous Decision. While the exact viewership of this match can’t be calculated, assuming that every PPV buy represents 2-3 viewers, we can assume the range between 9.2 million to 13.8 million viewers globally.

With the Tyson-Paul fight having the potential to reach at least 10X of the audience, it might break the record of the most viewed fight of all time. Furthermore, earlier this year, Jake Paul himself mentioned the potential of the fight and how deeply it can appeal with the general audience.

Jake Paul: It is not a PPV

In March, El Gallo announced on X that this fight would be free for all Netflix users. He further declared it a non-PPV and wrote, “This event is not a PPV. Free to all 260 million Netflix subscribers…500 million plus homes. Live. #PaulTyson.”

Considering how Netflix has eliminated the problem of piracy to a certain extent, we can expect the real viewership of the fight rather close to the subscription numbers. According to Nielsen’s The Gauge report, Netflix is the most used streaming service in the USA and it is the same for most parts of the world.

Furthermore, the prize money of the fight is also expected to be around $100 million with Jake Paul approximately earning $40 million, his highest payday yet. Mike Tyson is also expected to earn around $20 million and it might increase based on how the fight will do.
