The fight purses for the Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr event have been revealed, and it may come as a surprise to many. Initially, the reports speculated the fighters’ event purses. However, the official fight purses have been disclosed and it doesn’t suggest that the event will be making record numbers as per the money each fighter will get.

Initial reports suggested that both Tyson and Jones Jr would make $10 million from the fight. The numbers included the PPV sale percentage and bonuses. Despite this, the disclosed purses show that both Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr will make only $1 million each.

Jake Paul and Nate Robinson will also earn an equal share, with each picking up $600,000 each. While the biggest surprise will be the purses of Badou Jack and Blake McKernan. Jack will collect a whopping $180,000 while McKernan will pick up $20,000. The latter fight will highlight the oft-seen element in combat sports of a known and marketable fighter making way more than an opponent on the other side of the spectrum.

However, these amounts do not include the Pay-Per-View share for the fighters. That will be decided by a pre-agreed percentage of the total Pay-Per-View sales. So since this fight is reportedly trending at record numbers, then maybe we could see Tyson and Jones Jr earn the reported $10 million. ‘Iron Mike’ will be donating his entire purse to charity after this fight.
