The former two-time heavyweight champion Mike Tyson believes that everybody you fight is not your enemy and that everybody that helps you is not your friend. This iconic statement was not some random philosophy that came out of the mouth of ‘The Baddest Man on Planet”. It is the moral of his own story. The youngest heavyweight champion ever touched the pinnacle and fell back into the pit in a very short span of time.

Now, when he looks back at his praise-worthy illustrious career, he finds how people around him shaped his life. In a career span of over two decades, one of the most impactful boxers in the history of the sport amassed a fortune, but he lost almost all of it because of some ‘opportunists’ that stabbed him while acting as a friend.

In an interview, he made a painful confession. He said, “People are opportunists. They look for a chance for you to fall, but they stay close to you. As if they’re your friends. While you are in power but as soon as the opportunity comes and they may help the opportunity by putting somebody there planting somebody in your situation. But as soon as the time comes where you’re down and out, that’s when everybody sticks their forks in your neck and in your backs.”

However, after overcoming every adverse scenario, Tyson claimed that those who manipulated him and miss used him were cowards. According to Tyson, these kinds of people are hollow from the inside.
