Speaking to BT Sport ahead of his fight, Tyson was asked about the current crop of heavyweights like Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, and Deontay Wilder. The 54-year-old said, “I think they’re brilliant man. I think they’re brilliant fighters. And man, they could do so much for society and have exhibitions and take the money from exhibitions.”

‘Iron Mike’ added, “They’re big crowd pleasers. And they can help so many people. The homeless, the drug affected, there’s just so many people out there that we can do so much for. And that would… that wouldn’t even be a tenth of their charitable heart to do something like that.”

He lauded their achievements and rise to the top and offered to fight them. The former champion said, “As a matter of fact, fight exhibitions with me. And all of our… most of our charity will go to people who desperately need it.”

When asked if he would be ready for it, he added, “Oh Absolutely. Not fights, but exhibitions. They will be fights, but I want you to label them as exhibitions.”

How would 54-year-old Mike Tyson do against the current heavyweights?

Despite his confidence in fitting in with the rest, boxing is a ruthless sport. Coming back at his age, after years at the top, and to fight someone at the peak of their powers, is ludicrous. Even though it would be an exhibition, it would be unreasonable even for ‘Iron Mike’.

However, fans said the same about his comeback, and at 54, he’s a week away from getting into the ring. So you can never say never with Tyson. One thing is for sure, if they were to put on an event for charity, it would be a success and could raise a lot of money. Would you like to see Tyson in the ring with one of the current heavyweights?
