Former world heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, is known for exuding his charisma on the silver screen. The Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth once revealed that Tyson was the inspiration for Thor’s fighting style.

Hemsworth was in conversation with MTV News at the Comic-Con International in San Diego in 2010. He was asked about his character ‘Thor’ in the then-upcoming film adaptation of the comics.

In response, Hemsworth spoke about his armored costume. He even gave special emphasis on how Tyson inspired Thor’s fighting style while using the Mjolnir.

Talking about the fighting style, he said, “First we looked at the comic books and the posturing and the way he moves and fights — a lot of his power seems to be drawn up from the ground — and we talked about boxers.”

Hemsworth further added, “Mike Tyson is very low to the ground, with a big open chest and big shoulder swings. Very sort of brutal but graceful at the same time.”

‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ has also enjoyed a fairly successful career as an actor. His magnetism and screen presence has also paved the way for many memorable characters on screen.

One of Tyson’s first appearances on screen was a cameo in the 2001 movie, ‘Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles’.

Tyson plays himself, and the scene shows him teaching the lead characters how to meditate. The movie also has a memorable scene where the child assumes that Tyson is a fighter as he is big and intimidating.

However, Crocodile Dundee corrects the kid by mentioning that Tyson would not hurt a fly, as he has a gentle soul.

Another memorable appearance was in the 2009 movie ‘The Hangover’. Tyson once again plays a caricature version of himself in the movie. The scene shows Tyson in the trio’s suite after they stole his Bengal tiger.

Tyson has also had the opportunity of working in international cinema. Notably, he was a part of the 2015 Hong Kong film, ‘Ip Man 3’. He played the character of Frank, a ruthless American property developer with connections to the Triads.

An unforgettable part of the film was the fight scene between Tyson and the lead actor, Donnie Yen. Fans were overjoyed to see the face-off between Wing Chung Kung Fu and boxing.
