The former four-weight world champion voiced his opinion on the championship potential of the American sensation. Ryan Garcia is a global figure in the sport for his exploits outside the ring; however, for all the talk, is yet to get his hands on a world title. Mikey Garcia gave his views on this.

Speaking to Fighthype.com on YouTube, the 33-year-old claimed he is not yet ready. He said, “A little while ago he was claiming he was going to be champion before 20. He was claiming and calling for Tank and all this. Never going to happen. That was never going to happen”

Garcia explained why. He said, “His handlers would never have let that happen. He wasn’t ready. You know, that’s where good management, good matchmaking, promotion comes in play. Eventually, he might be there, but not right now.”

Clearly, Garcia rates the 22-year-old and agrees with his championship potential. However, he feels that it will not happen in the fashion that he has always claimed. Furthermore, with the way Golden Boy Promotions handled Canelo Alvarez, we can see why Mikey Garcia believes Ryan’s handlers would never let it happen.
