The Canelo Alvarez vs Billy Joe Saunders event is in full swing. After years of speculation, fans are getting closer to witnessing the fight between the two champions.

Although Saunders has been relatively subdued, the Englishman has been trying to get into the head of Alvarez. Moreover, this is the first time Alvarez has lashed out at his opponent as well. So is Billy Joe Saunders getting into the head of Canelo Alvarez?

The 55-1-2 boxer answered these questions himself. He spoke to Fight Hub TV and said, “We know the class of a person he is,and what he was going to try to do but I’m focused on winning and to do my thing, and that’s the most important thing.” [via subtitles]

When the interviewer asked him if he liked Saunders as a person, Alvarez replied, “No, I can’t stand him for nothing.” 

These comments showed that the rivalry between the Mexican, and the Englishman, is very real. There is genuine bad blood between the two champions.

What has Billy Joe Saunders tried to do to get to Canelo Alvarez?

Alvarez’s comments will excite fans who can now look forward to fireworks in the ring. The Mexican will surely try to silence his opponent for all the talk going on. So what has Billy Joe Saunders done to affect Canelo Alvarez?

The undefeated champion first threatened to pull out of the fight over the ring size issue. However, once they sorted that, he went face to face with Canelo Alvarez and made several references to beef. Furthermore, he mocked Alvarez’s failed drug test.

Also, ‘Superb’ and his team have warned that there has been a spell cast by the gypsy community back in England which will help him in the fight. Therefore, he has tried several ways to unnerve the multi-weight champion.
