Floyd Mayweather‘s life has been as eventful outside of the boxing ring as it has been inside it. He has had multiple ups and downs when it comes to relationships. But the one person working behind the scenes in all aspects of his life, in addition to much of his boxing career, was his personal assistant and TMT marketing manager, Marikit “Kitchie” Laurico. With her untimely death at just 47 years old back in March this year, Mayweather’s former partner and their daughter came together to grieve their loss recently.
Kitchie had just returned from Dubai. Reports then suggested that Kitchie had a heart attack and died on the way to the hospital. Melissa Brim, who Mayweather has had a cordial relationship with, co-parented their daughter, Iyanna Mayweather. In a series of Instagram stories, Iyanna showcased how Kitch was an integral part of her life and that her demise has also left her mom Melissa Brim upset. While sharing their pictures and photos, she wrote at the end of a lengthy caption, “Love you forever.”
In another Instagram story, she mentioned that Kitch was a gem to be around and that she would miss her. Reflecting on the thought, she wrote, “That was the song we were singing at the Super Bowl 2018. Man she was such a beautiful person. I can hear her voice now “hey mel you look sooo pretty” & when she saw KJ, “Hey papa” she loved him so much. Miss you, Kitch.”

As is evident, Kitchie was more than just a manager for the Mayweather clan and was a part of their family. Recently, Iyanna took to Instagram to express her grief and thanked Kitchie for her help and support. Iyanna reminisced about the time when Kitch would take care of her baby and shared an image of her playing with her baby and wrote, “You loved my baby so much and always took care of both of us. I miss tf out of you.”

Mayweather family weren’t the only ones who were devastated by the sudden passing of Kitchie. Back in April, after her tragic demise, Mayweather’s longtime friend Jamie Foxx mourned her loss on his social media.

Kitchie was also close with the Hollywood Star, Jamie Foxx. Foxx, who was shocked to hear about the unfortunate news, took to Instagram to convey his sorrow. He mentioned that she was a great human being with a captivating personality. In the post, he wrote, “I know they say the god doesn’t make mistakes, but come on man, not @ikitchie my heart is shattered. Just saw you two weeks ago. So many questions why… rest beautifully my blessed friend gone too soon gone for no reason.”
