Press conferences are platforms to promote an upcoming fight. However, in certain instances, it can be counterproductive. And even halt a contest to take place. Similar is the case with Alex Stein and Mo Deen. Stein is a political commentator on YouTube. Meanwhile, Mo Deen is another internet sensation, known for his public interviews. The two influencers had some differences and resorted to settling it in a boxing ring. And they were supposed to face one another on MISFITS 008 card on July 23.

However, after an unexpected incident at the press conference, the bout between the two was called off. What ignited MISFITS to call this fight off the card? What was so controversial about the incident at the press conference? Let’s take a look at it.

The controversial incident at the press conference of Alex Stein vs Mo Deen

The animosity between them was brewing throughout the build-up of the fight. However, it all came to a head during the press conference. Stein stood up and started to antagonize Deen. To gain an edge in mental warfare, not only did Stein come prepared with words but also with planned action.

During their back and forth, Stein started to throw hot dogs from his bag and at Deen. While throwing, he stated, “You love pork, right?”

Deen was vehemently offended and charged towards Stein to throw down right at the press conference itself. However, the security managed to halt the altercation. But the brawl got to a point that the press conference came to an abrupt end because of the incident.

The sport of boxing is no stranger to such altercations and brawls. Neither are some actions politically correct. However, MISFITS Boxing did not condone this particular instance and made a decision. On Twitter, they stated, “Following today’s actions at the Happy Punch press conference, Alex Stein has been removed from the card.”

However, Stein’s opponent was not pleased with the decision and made it evident on social media.

Deen did not appreciate the contest being pulled off from the card due to the actions of his opponent. In addition, he demanded the fight take place, stating, “I am getting the chance to smash this guy face in.”  Meanwhile, Stein reacted to the video made by him and condemned the decision.

He stated, “My opponent still wants to fight but unfortunately cancelling me is more important than the actual boxing match. Mo deserves the chance to knock me out but they officially squashed that chance for him.”
