Boxing often surprises fans with its unexpected twists and intense drama. At one point in time, the heavyweight division was buzzing with rumors of a huge showdown in April 2023. This was between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. Yet, the much-talked-about $400 million fight didn’t happen.
Recently, veteran promoter Bob Arum brought a new claim to the table. Further, he also implied the importance of this fight. Both Fury and Usyk’s camp originally planned this fight for April 2023, but negotiations fell through, and the fight didn’t happen. However, recent events hint at a renewed chance for the bout to take place.

Will Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk finally face off?
So, recently Micheal Benson, an online boxing editor for Talksport.com, posted a tweet regarding the potential showdown.
He said, “Bob Arum has insisted that they will revisit Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk and once again try to make the undisputed heavyweight world title fight after Fury vs Francis Ngannou and Usyk vs Daniel Dubois“

Furthermore, in a recent interview with Steve Kim, Bob Arum shared his insights about the potential showdown. He said, “We gonna work our a** off with my friend Egis Kilmas to make Fury and Usyk. That’s the fight. I mean Usyk has a tough fight with Daniel Dubois, if he dodges that bullet, a fight with Fury is the best fight. And since everybody knows each other and there’s no animosity on any side, it should be an easy fight to make.”
The bout’s occurrence remains uncertain for the future. Meanwhile, Tyson Fury is actively training for his match against Francis Ngannou. Additionally, Fury’s former opponent recently disclosed Fury’s potential earnings from the fight.
How much money is Fury going to make from the Ngannou fight?
Fury plans to face ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia on October 28, 2023. However, fans are buzzing about the fighters’ purse details. Recently, Derek Chisora, a former opponent of Fury, defended him. Speaking with FightHub TV, Chisora revealed that Fury might pocket around 50 million from his ten-round bout with Ngannou.

The interviewer mentioned that many are criticizing Fury for this bout. However, Chisora shared his unique insight on it. Derek Chisora said, “It’s called entertainment. Whoever gets knocked out, he doesn’t care; he’s getting millions. It’s fine. They don’t know how much Tyson’s getting paid. That’s why they’re criticizing. He’s going to get paid 50 mil.”
Bob Arum’s claims and Micheal Benson’s tweet suggest a revival of the Fury-Usyk bout. Where Fury is preparing for his fight with Francis Ngannou, discussions of his purse details have already begun.
