While Tyson Fury seems to have walked away from a unification showdown against Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk is ready to slide in for a shot at the heavyweight gold. Still fresh from a win over Dereck Chisora in October last year, the Ukrainian elite has already called out Joshua in the past.

However, it didn’t seem to be a fruitful idea since ‘AJ’ was scheduled to meet ‘The Gypsy King’. Meanwhile, the unification battle has been intervened by former WBC champion Deontay Wilder, who urged Fury and Joshua to go ahead with separate contenders.

Hence, Eddie Hearn has publicly approached Oleksandr Usyk to fight Anthony Joshua. In response, Usyk had a clear answer as he is looking for “more money.” Reporter Michael Benson posted the 39-year-old’s clip on social media, sending several fans into a frenzy.

As Tyson Fury now appears to face Deontay Wilder in an epic trilogy in July, Anthony Joshua can lock horns against Usyk in August. Hearn has appeared optimistic about staging the fight. So, Usyk can be the best viable opponent for ‘AJ’, other than Tyson Fury.

While speaking with the fans via Matchroom YouTube, Eddie Hearn expressed his idea of settling Usyk vs Joshua on either August 21 or 28. So it would delay AJ’s in-ring return to a week or two. Although the champion would remain the favorite, Usyk can still be a threat inside the squared circle.

The undefeated boxer has held a world championship at the cruiserweight division and pundits regard him as one of the best active boxers. Additionally, he showcased lopsided dominance against Chisora in his latest performance. However, he couldn’t stop the ‘WAR’ and suffered some serious ramifications for his action inside the ring.

Hence, Anthony Joshua would put a lot more than Dereck Chisora on the table. He has been on a tear in the heavyweight division. And can rightly be the first man to defeat Usyk in the professional ride. So, it makes sense for the Briton unified champion to accept a fight against ‘The Cat Olek’.
