The realm of boxing often sees spectacles and hype, usually built around an upcoming fight or exhibition, but seldom do they make people laugh genuinely, for what it is, without the mockery. Recently, at The DAZN weigh-in event that took place in Abu Dhabi, fans and critics were left scratching their heads. And it wasn’t because of the fighters on the scale.

Fans were left puzzled as IFL TV posted a video of the bizarre weigh-in on their Twitter account. The video featured Ugandan boxer Musa Ntege, living up to his magnanimous moniker in the strangest of ways. 

However, hawk-eyed fans noticed another curious figure in the background adding an unexpected twist and what ensued could not have prepared us in any way. It was none other than Gareth A Davies himself!

Fans Roar With Laughter

Before delving into the hilariously weird spectacle, let’s bring everyone on the same page and remind you who Gareth A Davies is.  Gareth A. Davies, often referred to as GAD, is a prominent sports journalist known for his witty and sometimes controversial commentary. To those who don’t understand why the people find his presence at this event peculiar, let’s just put it this way, it’s like spotting Gordon Ramsey at your local chili cookout. Fans quickly noticed that GAD couldn’t contain his giggles as he witnessed the shenanigans pulled by Musa ‘The Dinosaur’ Ntege. He succinctly lived up to his moniker, by acting like a, well you guessed it, dinosaur. A T-Rex by the looks of it!

Multiple users pointed out their astonishment at Gareth Davis’ presence. Like this one who says ” More weirder that Gareth Davis is there.“

A fan, wondered who the Dinosaur was, honestly, as did we.

And finally, a commenter drew parallels with another weird weigh-in, though this one does not take the cake.

Lastly another user also stated that the fighter was embodying his moniker.

As the event unfolded, it became evident that GAD was having a blast. He seemed to be thoroughly enjoying himself, and his enthusiasm was infectious. The weigh-in showed the two competitors, Mohammed Bekdash of Germany, and Musa shaking hands as a sign of good sportsmanship. Though of course, this happened after Ntege’s amazing spectacle. The fighters replaced tension with sheer amusement in a face-off like no other.

The DAZN Abu Dhabi weigh-in event was undeniably bizarre, It was a stark departure from the usual intensity and seriousness associated with boxing weigh-ins.  Amid all the scandals and controversies, Hype culture, and rivalries, this video was a much-needed palate cleanser, and the fans seem to agree on this one, unanimously.
