But most importantly, it opened the gates to a new dimension of bouts where MMA fighters could showcase their boxing skills. Moreover, it gave an opportunity to the latter to get a lucrative payday. Along with these outcomes, this fight outlined a big difference between an MMA fighter and a boxer.

It clearly made evident no matter how good an MMA fighter is in the Octagon, it would not be easy for him to beat a boxer in a boxing match. Mayweather in the twilight of his career easily dominated the fight and knocked out McGregor, who was in his physical prime. In the jampacked arena, ‘The Pretty Boy’ highlighted that the territory makes difference. But it seems that former UFC star Chael Sonnen has learned nothing from this storyline.

Fans react to the claim of Chael Sonnen on the Fury vs Jones fight

Sonnen recently uploaded a video on his Y0uTube channel where he made an astonishing claim about a fantasy boxing match between Tyson Fury vs Jon Jones. A page named Rocky Balboa shared Sonnen’s prediction which read, “If Jon Jones went over to boxing and fought Tyson Fury I would bet on Jon. Anything combat related I’m taking Jon Jones every time.”

When fans came across this, they made jibes at Sonnen because his claim was seemingly outrageous. Fury is one of the best heavyweight technicians of all time and as of now, the 33-year-old is in his heyday. Putting Jon ‘Bones’ Jones against him in the current scenario does not seem like a good fight.
