Muhammad Ali and Bruce Lee are the most influential figures of the 20th century. The duo made their fortunes on a common ground which is combat sports. One used it in the professional ring and became the greatest heavyweight champion of all time and another showcased his art on the silver screen and made Mixed Martial Arts popular across the globe.

However, they never faced each other in an actual contest which goes against the likes of fans. They are curious to know who would have won if the best would have gone against the best in the match.

This curiosity led to a very interesting storyline on social media.

Jonah Goldberg, Editor-in-Chief at The Dispatch, wrote on Twitter, In their prime, Muhammad Ali versus Bruce Lee.”

When Fans came across this, they poured their remarks.

A fan wrote, “Ali, and it’s not close.”

Another fan wrote, “Anything other than a straight-up boxing match it has to be Lee. And I’m not so sure rope-a-dope would work even if it were a boxing match.”

Another fan gave a reality check. He mentioned that Lee was an actor. This fan is reasonable. Lee showcased his art on camera and he never took himself to professional contests, whereas Ali made his way through professional boxing.

“Ali wasn’t a generic big guy boxer, he was Ali”, another fan wrote.

“Any rules, Ali punches and it’s over”, another fan wrote.

Another fan shared the difference between Ali and Lee. He wrote, “They have weight classes in professional fighting for a reason. Lee was 5’8 140 while Ali was 6’3 235…Ali all day and it wouldn’t even be close.”

“In their prime assumes in the prime of their fighting style. Otherwise, it’s like saying “in their prime who could make a better coq a vin?”, another fan wrote.

“If Lee could do enough damage in the first three rounds, he could take Ali. The longer the fight goes on the advantage goes to Ali”, another fan wrote.
