Boxing legend Muhammad Ali’s daughter Laila Ali had high praise for WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford. ‘Bud’ recently secured a dominant KO victory over  David Avanesyan. Moreover, the latter was knocked out cold in the sixth round after Crawford landed some brutal combinations and ended the fight.

This fight was the main event of a BLK Prime Pay-Per-View card that saw the three-division champ reign supreme once again. However, despite many expecting this finish, Ali was quick to praise ‘Bud’ for his dominant performance.

Laila Ali congratulates Crawford with a four-word message

The former female middleweight champion took to Instagram and posted a picture of Crawford after the fight on her story. She also had a four-word message for the WBO champion as she congratulated him on his victory.

One of a kind’ wrote Ali.

Crawford is currently one of the best welterweights in the world along with Errol Spence Jr.

Moreover, this was proved in the fight against Avanesyan after he used his southpaw stance to dismantle his opponent. This combined with his switch-hitting skills is what makes him a feared champion. ‘Bud’ is now 39-0 with 30 KOs under his belt and six title defenses. However, many fans feel that the only way he can be tested is against Spence but this fight like many in the sport is yet to be confirmed.

Terence Crawford blames business for ruining Errol Spence bout

Before his bout with Avanesyan, Crawford addressed the situation for his fight with Spence. In an interview with Ariel Helwani, ‘Bud’ revealed that a fight with Spence will not take place before next year and went on to blame the business of boxing for not bout being delayed.

Me and Errol, if that fight happens, it will happen next year. I just don’t like the fact that a lot of people are blaming me for trying to make the fight. That’s about it. But my main focus is not on Errol right now. My main focus is on Daron Avanesyan. I just blame the business of boxing. I don’t blame myself for [even] one portion of the fight not being made” said Crawford

Crawford left Bob Arum and Top Rank promotions back in 2021, for apparently not being able to book a fight with Spence. However, it does not look like the WBO champion is making much progress regarding the business side and booking aspect of the sport since going independent.
