Muhammad Ali’s daughter, Maryum Ali urges everyone to donate for people affected by earthquake in Turkey and Syria

In a recent Instagram post, she called out for the help of people and wanted them to contribute toward the relief funds. In addition, the donations were for the Zakat foundation which was currently on the ground, providing help to the people affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Maryum would also link the Instagram page of the organization in the post and claimed that they can be trusted.

This was a great effort by Ali to add funds to help the affected people in the earthquake which recently hit Turkey and Syria. The earthquake has caused a huge loss of life and property which will take years to rebuild. However, these relief works are necessary for awareness as well as to raise funds.

Massive earthquake hits Turkey and Syria

In the early hours of Monday, a massive earthquake of 7.5 magnitude hit Turkey and regions of Syria. As per the BBC, around 11,000 people have been killed by the earthquake, with many more being injured or rendered homeless. Moreover, this is only the third earthquake of this magnitude in the last 10 years.

Syria and Turkey both fall under the fault lines of these earthquakes and are more prone to them. However, the area hadn’t had an earthquake in over 200 years. This made the people even less prepared when the disaster actually happened. Despite this, development projects and exploiting natural resources have made the surface more vulnerable.
