Boxing legend Muhammad Ali was a man who always stood up for the rights of his community and people. This is the main reason why he is considered to be one of the greatest athletes of all time, not only for his dominance inside the ring but also for his impact outside of it. Ali was a pioneer in the civil rights movement and would stand up for injustices even if it meant that he would incur a personal loss. Moreover, there are many stories detailing how he helped the poor and underprivileged people around him as well.

He once saved a man from killing himself. Therefore, it should not be surprising that his daughter has also taken up social activism like her father. Maryum Ali, the eldest daughter of the former champion who he had with his second wife Khalilah Ali did exactly this after she urged fans across the world to help people currently suffering from the disaster.

Syria and Turkey both fall under the fault lines of these earthquakes and are more prone to them. However, the area hadn’t had an earthquake in over 200 years. This made the people even less prepared when the disaster actually happened. Despite this, development projects and exploiting natural resources have made the surface more vulnerable.
