Oscar De La Hoya, former world champion turned promoter, got a reality check from the fans after a questionable tweet. This past Saturday, Devin Haney, the current lightweight champion, defeated Vasyl Lomachenko via a controversial decision. Many boxing pundits and fans thought that the decision robbed Lomachenko of an evident victory, including De La Hoya. However, to express his dissatisfaction with the decision, La Hoya called it a “robbery” and considered the fight’s decision to be similar to the bout he had with  Floyd Mayweather.

Back in 2007, De La Hoya was defeated by Floyd Mayweather. Although the bout was competitive between the two, Mayweather won by split decision. However, De La Hoya felt that he did enough to secure the victory and was not pleased with the decision. Recently, he reflected on the fight with ‘Money’ that happened 16 years ago and did not shy away from making his reactions public.
