In an old resurfaced clip, posted to Instagram, a young Ali can be seen narrating how he ended up at a boxing gym. “My bicycle was stolen and my cousin was a boxer. He wasn’t too successful but he boxed and he told me that he would train me if I ever catch the guy,” said Ali to the interviewer.

Although his cousin was not a star in the ring, he proved a good teacher. The simple bicycle stolen from him turned the little kid into a young pugilist. Soon, the gym became Ali’s new arena.
