The 28-year-old showed his class and dismantled his opponent for six rounds before a controversial ending marred the fight, causing the crowd to show their disapproval. Here’s what happened.

The two fought as the undercard of the Canelo Alvarez vs. Billy Joe Saunders event. Sanchez went into the bout as the firm favorite over the American. However, after a good start to the fight, it ended in disappointment for the 70,000 in attendance who let their feelings be known with a crescendo of boos.

However, fans questioned the legitimacy of the claims from Aguilera, who appeared to go down a little later. Moreover, he flopped around the canvas and stood up just before the referee called the fight. Therefore, the fans questioned if it was a genuine claim or just a way out for the veteran.

As a result, the doctor checked in on Aguilera and called the fight. Hence, the referee went to the judges’ scorecards until the incident. The Cuban took home a unanimous 60-54 decision after 6 rounds, which was a fair reflection of the fight until that point.
