Canelo Alvarez saw his teammate Julio Cesar Martinez suffer a scratchy defeat against Roman Gonzalez on March 5, while the P4P king was seated in the ringside at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, USA.
It was Martinez’s second professional defeat, which came after a flawless run of six years. Besides, it happened at a very crucial time as Cesar Martinez was close to earning a title shot. That said, the recent defeat has clearly put him at a distance from fighting for the gold.

While Canelo Alvarez was present to cheer for him, the P4P king clearly didn’t like what he saw. He reportedly left the arena with partner Fernanda Gomez after ‘Chocolalito’ won. On the contrary, Alvarez also relished his in-ring time, where he had spoken about his upcoming clash against Dmitry Bivol on May 7.
Nevertheless, Alvarez seemed irked with Martinez’s performance. Sitting beside Eddie Hearn, Alvarez screamed at the top of his voice and advised his teammate on how to tackle ‘Chocolalito’. ESPN posted the clip on their social media handle, sending several fans into a frenzy.

Well, these still didn’t help Julio Cesar Martinez in the squared circle. He remained on the wrong end of a lopsided beat down throughout the night. Despite taking the scrap to the distance, the Mexican boxer didn’t have enough accolades to expect a victory.
