It seems that Will Smith is not able to get out of the controversy trap, and the news about Will Smith and Chris Rock resurfaced on the internet once again. But this time it is in the trend for another reason. A few days ago at the premiere of the actor’s upcoming movie, Emancipation, he revealed that legendary boxer, Floyd Mayweather called him every day for ten days after the Oscar incident happened.

Popular media house Wion has confirmed it in one of their episodes. Smith also added that before the incident, they were not ‘so-called’ friends. But after the fanatic incident, Mayweather went beyond friendship to support the actor. Fans however have acted weirdly and made some cheeky comments on the internet.

How did Floyd Mayweather help, Will Smith? 

On the evening of the Oscars 2022, the host was famous comedian Chris Rock who was making fun of the celebrities present there. But the whole table turned when he tried to mock Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett for her medical condition, alopecia. The sarcasm was not taken lightly by Smith and he went straight up to the stage and threw a right hand at Rock. The incident drew heavy criticism.

But in the crisis, Floyd Mayweather came as a ‘messiah’ and he called Smith for ten consecutive days. He also revealed how Mayweather used to call him and say that he is his hero. Mayweather told Smith, “you know you the champ, right? You good? You know you the champ, right? I want you to hear my voice say it.”  

But fans mocked Mayweather’s gesture, and think that it is just a stunt to increase his fanbase.

The fans commented on Wion’s post sarcastically and trolled both celebrities for their unexpected friendship. 

A fan named Ibi Yogho said, “No man should ever have to joke about a woman’s medical condition, talk less of doing so in her and husband’s face! If your mind goes blank while doing standup comedy, hang the mic.”

Another fan trolled Mayweather for ‘taking advantage’ of Will Smith, and said, “No doubt he was kissing up to Will – so Will can get help the Mayweather children get into acting…how pathetic!”

One user said, “Chris deserved a slap for many of his choices, but mocking Pinkett-smiths hair isn’t one of them.” 

Jack Stone said, “Course he will. That right cross slap is a haymaker. Or he misheard chump?”

Some people have shown support for Will Smith. Thama Mudau said, “We are with you brother Smith”

Regardless of what the fans had to say about them, Mayweather showed a great sense of responsibility through his generous act towards Smith. Even though the whole world was against Smith, Mayweather stood by Smith even after not being a “so-called” friend, which is appreciable. Both are champions in their respective fields.
