Undefeated champion Terri Harper retained her WBC junior lightweight title in an intense 10-rounder battle against Natasha Jonas on Friday’s main event.

While the fight got deemed to be a controversial draw, Harper was potentially taken to the edge for the first time in her career. Both the women gave everything they had in-ring and poised a nail-biting thriller.

That said, promoter Eddie Hearn is already up for an immediate re-match. He appeared excited about the recent matchup and billed it as one of the greatest fights in women’s boxing, billing a re-match between the duo.

Eddie Hearn wants to see a rematch between Terri Harper and Natasha Jonas

In the post-fight interview, Hearn claimed to have predicted the fight as a draw. However, he also revealed to have favored Natasha Jonas over Harper, slightly.

“I thought the fight was a draw. I felt maybe if anyone was going to get the decision, it would be Natasha Jonas, but it was a very close fight. Could have gone either way.”

While most of the fanbase deemed Harper to beat the challenger, Jonas subsequently stole the show with her dominance. She kept pushing Harper off her limits throughout the contest and was almost on the verge of snatching the title.

However, Harper responded with legitimate action against Jonas and somehow saved herself from losing the WBC championship. Not to forget, Hearn is super thrilled about setting up the rematch shortly.

“I think we have to see the rematch for that fight. I feel that it was just a stunning fight. No one gave Natasha a chance going into that fight, really, other than the people around here.

“I could just see how focused she was, see she was in great shape. What she did was put in the performance. She was hurt in the second round, Harper was out on her feet in the eighth round — we have to see the fight again. And I know that Terri being Terri will want to do it again, anyway.”
