WBC Interim super middleweight champion David Benavidez remained undefeated following his victory over former IBF champion Caleb Plant. The two would finally meet in the ring after years of bad blood in a fight certainly living up to its billing. Following 12 rounds of exciting action between the two, ‘the Mexican Monster’ would get his hand raised at the end winning via unanimous decision.

Despite getting off to a strong start and utilizing the bigger ring to his advantage, Plant would not be able to keep up with the pressure of Benavidez. The undefeated boxer would then take over the fight starting with a big flurry that hurt Plant in Round 8. ‘Sweethands’ barely escaped getting knocked out in this round but carried through till the end. The latter rounds were dominated by Benavidez as he proved that he is currently one of the best middleweights in the world. Moreover, it seems that ‘Iron’ Mike’s prediction for ‘The Mexican Monster’ came through as he will now be gearing up to face undisputed champion, Canelo Alvarez. This was not all as the boxing community including competing boxers related to this enthralling bout.
