When it comes to having experiences with psychedelic substances, Mike Tyson has had a plethora of them throughout his life. And, amidst all the speculations regarding psychedelics, the recent guest on Tyson’s podcast has given a different perspective on the subject. He made strong claims about substance abuse. And what makes this guest special when it comes to the topic of psychedelics is that he claims to have read a lot of medical literature on the topic. He is also a professional doctor who has also dived into the world of entrepreneurship.

In the latest episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, the 56-year-old was joined by Abhinav Gautam, who talked about the topic of psychedelics in the episode. And shared his own experiences with psychedelics. He painted a different picture from the traditional one everyone believes in. And revealed a totally different side to the realm of psychedelics and the effects it can have on the consumer.

Is there really no such thing as a bad trip?

While on the podcast, Gautam started the conversation on the topic. And, in the very beginning, he made the claim that there there is no such thing as a “bad trip”. As perplexing as that sounds, he went on to substantiate the claim by giving examples from his personal experiences.

Gautam said, “It’s a teacher.” Referring to his experiences. Moreover, talking about his personal experiences, he added, “You know, when I had really this dark experience, it was the craziest sh*t I had ever felt in my life.” He further went on to compare his psychedelic experience to the famous TV show, “Dragon Ball Z.” Talking about the energy he felt, he said, “I was like f*cking super-Saiyan. All of this energy was shooting out of me.” Tyson himself has been open about his use of psychedelics.

The doctor-turned-entrepreneur called it the “darkest” experience of his life. But that did something to him which made him want to do it again. He added, “Probably 12 hours after that, I thought to myself that this is some darkness I’ve never felt before. I gotta go back in there.”

Notably, Gautam believes that everybody who tries psychedelics should do so in a responsible way.
