In the current scenario, the most potential opponent above Ilunga Makabu is the unified middleweight world champion, Jermall Charlo. He is undefeated and may prove a tough opponent and fans around the world want a blistering bout. Mike Coppinger, the boxing insider, said, “I’m not so sure that Canelo [Alvarez] will be fighting at cruiserweight or against [Ilunga] Makabu. I’m hearing that it’s much more likely that he’s going to fight Jermall Charlo on Cinco de Mayo. There are talks right now for that fight.”
