Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua? Josh Taylor makes his pick

Taylor, 29, sat down in the recent episode of Behind The Gloves to discuss several things. While he gave a lot of insight into his boxing career, Taylor picked a favorite between ‘The Gypsy King’ and ‘AJ.’

Josh Taylor comfortably picked Tyson Fury over Anthony Joshua. However, he didn’t rule out Joshua’s chances in the matchup.

Taylor said, “I favor Fury, I don’t think anybody can outbox him. I don’t think anybody can get near him in the heavyweight division.”

He also had something special to say about Joshua. Hailing AJ’s combinations and strength, Taylor said:

Anthony Joshua is a very good combination puncher, very strong, carries his power…  At the short-range — very effective but long-range boxing — he’s quite easily outboxed and outmaneuvered.”

However, this matchup might not happen soon. Both Fury and Joshua will defend their titles against Deontay Wilder and Kubrat Pulev, respectively.

Only if they get past their upcoming opponents and Joshua doesn’t have to defend his titles against any further mandatory challengers, Fury vs Joshua can happen. As per Fury, he wants to fight in 2021. If things fall in place, the blockbuster event can happen.
