After the Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr Usyk rematch, the British boxing sensation Tyson Fury declared his comeback from retirement. Fury returned to the ring to challenge Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight belt. Fury, however, declared that before facing Usyk in the epic battle, he will first face Joshua. Notably, his confrontation with AJ did not go as planned, and Derek Chisora took AJ’s place. But most recently, ‘The Gypsy King’ said he still desires to challenge Joshua.

There were several instances in the past when there were talks about a potential Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua clash. But it never reached its fruition. Recently, Fury shed some light on the subject and said, “I don’t think I can retire today. Because I need that Joshua fight. We have been trying to make that fight for years.”

He further mentioned that fans really want to see this fight and stated, “It would be an absolute dying travesty if me and Joshua didn’t fight in this era.”

Fury and Joshua are among the biggest names in the heavyweight division of boxing. Given Fury’s remarks, it’s possible that this fight may eventually happen. But only time will tell how this situation plays out.

Upcoming fights for Tyson Fury 

‘The Gypsy King’ will be seen squaring off against Derek Chisora in a trilogy fight the following month. The two will engage in combat on December 3rd in London at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Fans believe that Fury doesn’t have anything to prove against Chisora as he has already defeated him twice in the past. Thus, boxing fans already knew how this fight would turn out, with Fury winning once more.

Consequently, the British boxer will be ready for one of the biggest fights in the sport against Oleksandr Usyk of Ukraine. They will fight for the title of undisputed heavyweight champion. Legendary boxer Lennox Lewis last held the belt almost 20 years ago. The public is eagerly awaiting the newly crowned heavyweight champion. It is predicted to happen sometime during the first months of 2023, though no specific dates have been revealed as of yet.
