Tommy Fury tore apart his rival Jake Paul for choosing Anderson Silva as an opponent for his upcoming fight. He believes that the YouTuber turned prizefighter is stepping down in competition by taking a shot against an MMA guy, who is of his father’s age.

Speaking to “Behind the Gloves’ on Sunday, October 9, Fury said, “I think that’s step down. The man is 50 years old and I think Anderson Silva is not too far off my dad’s age so I don’t know what’s going on here. The man’s 25-year-old meant to be you know a strong fit young lad. Why is he fighting a 50-year-old man?”

Notably, boxing pundits are considering Silva, Paul’s opponent, on the basis of his iconic career in MMA. The UFC veteran is widely regarded as one of the greatest combat sports fighters of all time. The former middleweight champion held a record of 10 successful title defenses, defeating the likes of UFC legends like Chael Sonnen, Vitor Belfort, and many others.

However, Fury did not see it as a big threat. According to him, the man is a legend no doubt, but he cannot escape his age, which ultimately affects the game of any fighter whosoever you are. He also criticized ‘The Problem Child’ for locking horns with an MMA guy, who, according to Fury, is not the best boxer.

What did Tommy Fury want Jake Paul to do?

Jake Paul is heading to meet Silva in the ring on October 29 at the Desert Diamond Arena in Arizona. He booked this fight after Fury and Hasim Rahman Jr. pulled back from the fight.

Following years of drama and failure to make the fight happen, Fury still wants to fight Paul.
