‘Nothing Lasts Forever’: Floyd Mayweather Gets Candid About Gervonta Davis’ Contract Situation

The five-weight division champ Floyd Mayweather, finally opened up amid heavy chaos between his protege Gervonta Davis and his promotional company ‘Mayweather promotion’ in an exclusive interview with FightHype’s Ben Thomson on March 27.
Notably, the WBA lightweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis is all set to throw fists against former WBA interim lightweight champion Rolando Romero on May 28 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on a Showtime pay-per-view event. However, ahead of this much-awaited clash, the southpaw gun dropped several tweets, which he deleted later, targeting his long-time contract with Mayweather Promotions.

Furthermore, in the process, he made a big announcement on March 25. According to the Baltimore boxer, his contract with Mayweather Promotions is expiring with the upcoming rumble on 28th May. However, the ending of the contract is not a big issue because if everything goes well, then it could be renewed.
But the highlight of the story is that the fights that are being scheduled by Mayweather Promotions are not satisfying the champion. He is in no mood of colliding with another fighter of Mayweather Promotions.
However, up till now, ‘The Pretty Boy’ of boxing had remained silent. But in a recent interview, he responded to ‘Tank’ Davis.
He said, “Nothing lasts forever, I will always love takeoff. I like him, love him, look at him like a son. He’s gonna always he has to do what’s best for him. I feel like I’ve done a great job thus far I’ve been just building him and putting in good fights, great fights and he’s steady growing he’s steady learning and I’m proud of him.”
What if Gervonta Davis leaves Mayweather Promotions?
One of the highest-grossing pay-per-view stars, Gervonta Davis has clarified that everything is not going well between him and Mayweather Promotions. The star boxer of Mayweather Promotions is tired of colliding with the boxers who were not at his level.
However, if ‘Tank’ left ‘The Money Team’ it would be an enormous loss for the Mayweather Promotions.

Keeping in mind the aura of the champion, it would not be a hard job for him to switch to another promotion. But it depends on him, whether he will leave ‘The Money Team’ or continue his journey.
However, Mayweather has made it clear in his response that ‘Tank’ has to do what is best for him.
