The tide seems to have turned against Ryan Garcia! Just days ago, fans and pundits alike couldn’t stop singing praises for the Victorville native after his shock win over rival Devin Haney. However, the development, revealing ‘The Flash’ Garcia’s failed doping test, has convinced the boxing world Garcia was up to no good.

Earlier today, Mike Coppinger broke the news, claiming the 25-year-old puncher tested positive for “PED Ostarine” a day before his fight and on the day of the fight. Moreover, Ryan Garcia can request testing of his B-Samples, but people, including Claressa Shields, and Caleb Plant, have already branded Garcia the culprit on X.

After the news went viral over social media, ‘The Goat’ Shields quickly hopped on X, writing, “Now it all makes sense. RYAN, How could you?” In a following tweet, Shields explained that, of course, Ryan Garcia is innocent until proven guilty. However, “The fight never made sense, the whole lead up insane! Fight insane and now this. If fighters are signed up to @Vada_Testing they should never enter the ring with a fighter who test dirty,” wrote Shields.

Even Regis Prograis voiced his opinion, who had previously lost to Haney. He wrote, “I’m gonna get the belt one more time then I’m moving to bare knuckle fighting. Boxing is just to[o] dirty.”

WBC president, Mauricio Sulaiman, also jumped into action upon learning about the development. “The WBC had received notification from @Vada_Testing about Ryan GarcÌa adverse findings… The due process begins immediately as per the WBC Clean Boxing Program Protocol.”

Shakur Stevenson went a step further to warn any of his opponents about pulling a similar stunt. He wrote, “Say gang any n***a ever get in there and cheat me like that R.I.P and any boxer standing wit that s**t a h*e.. Now idk if it’s true or not but if it is get that n***a out of boxing.”

Caleb Plant decided to highlight Garcia’s response to the whole situation while throwing shade at him. Plant wrote, “‘Everyone knows I don’t cheat’ do we? How TF we know that?”

Meanwhile, Paul Malignaggi revealed what “Ostarine” does for an athlete, implying Ryan Garcia used it for the same reason. He wrote, “Ostarine users confirm its effectiveness in improving muscle mass and strength levels. It enhances muscle synthesis, strength, reduces fatigue, and promotes protein synthesis without causing fat gain or water retention. Provides remarkable results for fat loss or muscle gain.”

With such tweets, things aren’t looking good for Ryan Garcia. However, it’s vital to consider what Garcia’s response to these new findings is.

After the news broke on social media, Ryan Garcia quickly released a statement on the situation. In a clip shared on his X account, Garcia presented his defense. He said, “I came on here to address this bull f**king s**t claim that I cheated. Everybody knows that I don’t cheat. Why didn’t they come up with this before the fight, if they found it before? Why would they let me step in the ring as a cheater?”

It’s also worth mentioning that before the fight transpired in New York last month, Devin Haney had accused Ryan Garcia of abusing drugs, something the Victorville native had denied vehemently. However, alongside those allegations, Garcia’s erratic behavior seems to have convinced people that something fishy was going on. And the results today gave everyone a point to drive home Garcia’s guilt.

What awaits Garcia’s fate is yet to be seen! In case he successfully proves his innocence in the matter, it would be interesting to see what these boxers would say. Until then, what’s your take on the whole situation?
