The welterweight division will finally move forward as Errol Spence Jr. and Yordenis Ugas will square off in a fight to unify their titles. In this contest, ’54 Milagros’ Ugas will defend his WBA title, whereas ‘The Truth’ Spence Jr. will put his WBC and IBF welterweight titles up for grabs.

This welterweight title fight is supremely important as the winner will advance to a potential undisputed fight against the WBO champion (Terence Crawford). But when is this contest happening?

Spence Jr. and Ugas’ fight will take place on April 16 at the AT&T stadium, in Texas.

Spence Jr. did not compete for the entire 2021. He was even scheduled to defend his straps against the great Manny Pacquiao.

However, a few weeks before the fight, Spence Jr. ended up with an eye injury and withdrew. Subsequently, Manny Pacquiao went on to face Yordenis Ugas and lost.

With his win, ’54 Milagros’ put himself in pole position to fight fellow champions Errol Spence Jr. or Terence Crawford. ‘The Truth’ remained pro-active and secured this fight. He announced it last month, but it didn’t have a date and venue. Now, that is no longer the case.
