Apart from the medium of sports itself, sports stars around the world always find ways to continually improve upon their pre-existing skill sets. Recently, a video post on Instagram by one of the smartest southpaws in the heavyweight division in Oleksandr Usyk is buzzing. In this video, Usyk can be seen shadow-boxing, practising uppercuts and hooks amid heavy snowfall that would leave everyone shivering in their quilts.

People are flocking to hills amid the heavy snowfall season to enjoy snow sports. This video also depicts the snow sports site of Ukraine. With ski poles standing vertical in ice and a ski helmet on the head, Oleksandr is fully packed within a jacket as he hones his skills. Additionally, the routine would probably help him in warming up before skiing.

He added the caption “#Boxing anytime, anywhere, to his video. Notably, ‘The Cat’ is out of the ring since he outclassed Anthony Joshua in a high profile heavyweight title clash in September last year. Since then, Usyk is a world champion in two weight classes. The undefeated heavyweight star is reminding fans and rivals that he is sharpening his boxing skills, despite not being in the ring.

Usyk is the greatest boxing stalwart hailing from Ukraine after garnering the unified WBO, IBF, WBA and IBO heavyweight title. He has already been crowned with undisputed cruiserweight glory. As per the rematch clause with former unified heavyweight Anthony Joshua, Usyk will probably face him in April 2022 as confirmed by British boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn.

Oleksandr Usyk v Anthony Joshua: Rewind

‘The Cat’ thrashed Joshua when they met back in September 2021. He had the upper hand on the British boxer, and the Ukrainian kept on bobbing and weaving tirelessly for 12 rounds. He used feints to catch AJ within jab range and kept him in the centre of the ring, avoiding the risk of being caught in the ropes. His speed was unmatchable for AJ along with calculated heavy punches, conserving his energy for the final rounds.

He sealed the epic battle with heavy left-handed cross blows, leaving Joshua helpless on ropes. AJ fought back with experienced professional moves, but a few heavy blows were well absorbed by Usyk and later AJ was bone-tired.
