For the longest time in boxing history, Las Vegas has been the spot for the big fights! Whether it’s Floyd Mayweather vs. Oscar De La Hoya or Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia, promoters could bet their money on Las Vegas. However, there’s a new sheriff in town! Who is that? Well, it’s none other than Turki Alalshikh.

The Saudi Royal has managed to lure some of the biggest names in boxing to his country, hosting jaw-dropping extravaganzas in the past few months alone. And now, his aim seems to be conquering the land of the free as well with the Terence Crawford vs. Israil Madrimov fight on August 3 in Los Angeles. So, ‘Golden Boy’ has mounted a concentrated assault on the Saudis through social media.

Earlier today, the head of Golden Boy Promotions hopped on X to outright declare war on the Saudis. He wrote, “No promoter is coming [into] my territory and think they can take over “my” sport!! This is war!!! This is aimed towards a person who doesn’t know sh*t about boxing!!!” However, this wasn’t his first attack to defend his spot!

On April 22, fresh off Garcia’s win over Devin Haney in New York, Oscar took to X with a similar message for the Saudi royals. Oscar wrote, “Nobody, I mean nobody, is coming to my country and or city and think they can take over boxing. I am a fighter first and I will fight hard for what I love the most and that’s Boxing. Viva!!!!!!”

Despite what he says on X, one of Oscar’s own fighters is about to fight in Alalshikh’s debut event in BMO Stadium, Los Angeles. Here’s the entire card for the Crawford vs. Madrimov event!

Turki Alalshikh comes in with a banger

Terence Crawford is aiming for a belt in the fourth division, following his achievement of undisputed status in welterweight and light welterweight divisions. He will take on Madrimov for the latter’s WBA and WBO interim world super welterweight titles. However, the fight card has more action in store for the public.

The night will start with a ten-round lightweight fight between Andy Cruz and Antonio Moran. That will be followed up by David Morrell vs. Radivoje Kalajdzic at light heavyweight for the vacant WBA light heavyweight title. Up next, Tim Tszyu will take on Oscar De La Hoya’s Vergil Ortiz Jr. at super welterweight.

Moreover, fans would get to see Andy Ruiz back in the ring against Jarrell Miller. Last but not least, featuring in the co-main event, Isaac Cruz would look to defend his recently acquired WBA super lightweight title against Jose Valenzuela.

With the Saudis taking over boxing, Oscar De La Hoya sees a threat to his territory. But isn’t the goal to collaborate with other promoters to create the biggest fights? What do you think about Alalshikh’s debut in America?
