Gervonta Davis put on the performance of his life against the undefeated Mario Barrios. This was the sternest test for him, and he certainly showed his class to one and all. Davis completely smothered his fellow contemporary, finishing him with slick body shots in round 11. With that, Davis also claimed the WBA super-lightweight strap and cemented his spot as a true champ in the 140-pound division.

This performance was bound to accrue attention from the boxing fraternity. That said, here we look at some of the tweets from boxing bigwigs who expressed their notions on Davis’s cracking win.

‘Golden Boy’ Oscar De La Hoya tweeted, @Gervontaa congratulations on the 3 divisions, you are the real deal and I love you for the fact that you are real. #Barrios you are a true gentleman and warrior.”

The welterweight sensation Errol Spence Jr. couldn’t hold himself back from congratulating Davis on his win. He wrote, “Good a** fight @Gervontaa different!”

The undefeated Edgar Berlanga Jr. congratulated ‘Tank’ and he even expressed his wish to fight his fellow undefeated star. “I wanna fight tank good sh*t boy !!!!!!!!!!!  @Gervontaa you different” he wrote.
