Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya claims that Ryan Garcia is ready for any challenge as he envisions a matchup against unified title-holder Teofimo Lopez in the coming year.

Both the young champions are unbeaten and are currently at their prime. Thus, a square-off between them will determine the better pugilist, if not the best.

Even though Ryan Garcia has touted himself against several such opponents, De La Hoya would only be worried about him facing the ‘TakeOver’.

And why not? Teofimo Lopez has just beaten the great Vasyl Lomachenko to become the unified lightweight champion. That said, he is seemingly the best amongst so many unbeaten lightweight champions.

However, Ryan Garcia has also proven himself to be a knockout specialist and one of the biggest superstars in the sport. He is already a global sensation with a huge fan following from every corner of the world.

Thus, Garcia against Lopez will be a massive showdown, and Oscar De La Hoya hasn’t failed to pinpoint. While De La Hoya could have lined up Garcia against any of the other A-listers, he has comfortably picked Teofimo Lopez as the most valid threat.

Meanwhile, Garcia will primarily face Luke Campbell for the WBC Interim lightweight title. The win against Campbell will open several doors for the Mexican, one of them being a fight against Lopez. No doubt, the lightweight scenario is getting exciting with each passing day.
