The Irishwomen took on Chantelle Cameron in a rematch fight and came out victorious, becoming the undisputed champion in two weight divisions. So, to congratulate the ‘Bray Bomber’, Oscar De La Hoya sent out a message.

Chantelle Cameron was an undefeated boxer going into the fight, but Taylor did not let that last. However, the Irish powerhouse has since suggested that she is open to a third fight with Cameron to settle, once and for all, who the better fighter is. After the win, many boxing stars came forward to congratulate Taylor on the historic win. One among them was Oscar De La Hoya.

Oscar De La Hoya calls Katie Taylor a beast

De La Hoya penned down his thoughts on Taylor’s excellent performance against Cameron. Turning to X (formerly Twitter), the head of Golden Boy Promotions congratulated Katie Tyalor on the home-ground win. Congratulations @KatieTaylor @ringmagazine, you are a beast of a champion,” wrote Oscar. The judges scored the fight 98-92, 96-94, and 95-95 at Dublin’s 3Arena. After the fight concluded on Saturday night, Taylor added Cameron’s super-lightweight title to her collection at 140 pounds.

What’s more, Orfhlaith Begley, a member of the Irish Parliament, also congratulated Katie by calling her the “Pride of Ireland” in a Twitter post. However, they were not alone in singing praises for the light-welterweight champion.

UFC Champion congratulates Katie

Following praise from Oscar De La Hoya, UFC champion Conor McGregor took to X, complimenting Katie. Not just Katie, the ‘Notorious’ even commended her promoter, Eddie Hearn, for his role in Katie’s success. “What a promoter, Eddie Hearn! The primo promoter! A credit to this father! The journey he has taken Katie on all over the world, with mega event after mega event, is one of the best stories in professional boxing history! A movie!” wrote McGregor, congratulating the duo.

Macgregor even went as far as to call Taylor the greatest of all time, while stating that she achieves everything she tries her hand at. “Katie is the GOAT! Double Unified World Champion. Olympic Champion. What she wants, she gets. Croke Park? Done,” McGregor wrote. He even drew comparisons with the legend, Muhammad Ali, stating nobody shook the world like Katie.
