Oscar De La Hoya is one of the most debatable boxers on the planet at present. Thanks to his antics in and outside the game, the boxing legend makes it to the news headlines even today. Also, he’s known for putting up blunt opinions on matters pertaining to him or to anyone else in the fight world.
But recently, ‘Golden Boy’ made a prolific statement on fighters respecting each other. In a video shared by ESNEWS, De La Hoya was seen talking to the former UFC kingpin, Henry Cejudo on this matter.
Here he said, “There’s always respect among fighters you know. There has to be. Unless you have like a beef with somebody.”

De La Hoya ranks among the most renowned and talked about boxing faces. This is because he had a stupendous career in which he tested himself against the best of his era, thus emerging as a winner in a majority of those bouts.
His trash-talking abilities, sublime fight IQ, and overall conduct in the ring made him a fan favorite in no time. And ‘Golden Boy’ has continued the same even after becoming a promoter.
Even today, De La Hoya, who still has that same love for the sport of boxing, is even ready to lace up the boxing gloves again. The boxing veteran was highly keen on making his return to the ring and now he’s in for the same against a worthy contender. In a few months from now, he’ll lock horns with the UFC legend, Vitor Belfort, in an exhibition boxing bout.
Should Oscar De La Hoya return to the professional boxing mix?
Oscar De La Hoya, in his recent training videos, has shown hunger like a 20-year-old. However, as he is nearly 50, turning into a professional boxer at this age would demand a lot more than his usual boxing skills.
