Former six-division champion and boxing promoter Oscar De La Hoya seems ready to finally see Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis meet in the ring. For years boxing fans have wanted to see the two lightweight rivals face each other after a long back and forth between the two. Moreover, it looks like the wishes might just come true in 2023 as the bout is more or less confirmed.

Gervonta Davis was recently part of huge controversy after reports of an alleged assault emerged. ‘Tank’ was even arrested days before his tune-up fight against Hector Luis Garcia which led many to believe that he won’t fight for the foreseeable future. However, he was released after a day of questioning and proceeded to make quick work of Luis Garcia in the fight. Moreover, he was quick to call out ‘KingRy’ following the match. Now, with this bout under the radar, De La Hoya has come out trying to promote the fight on his social media.

Oscar De La Hoya hints at Davis vs Garcia fight date

Golden Boy’ took to his Instagram where he can be seen in a phone booth trying to call somebody. In addition, he reveals that he is booking his ringside tickets for April 15th, which is the hinted date for this bout. “Reserving my ringside tickets for April 15th,” he wrote in the photo. This was not all as De La Hoya can also be seen flaunting his new abs, which he has surgically got implanted.

De La Hoya has been Garcia’s promoter for a long time and was trying his best to book this fight. However, his attempts were unsuccessful until now due to the politics in boxing. Despite this, both fans and the former champion can finally see two of the best lightweights in the world dish it out in the squared circle.

De La Hoya reveals fight contracts for Garcia vs Davis

‘Golden Boy’ recently revealed the contract for this fight, days after announcing a deadline. Moreover, he even posted a picture with him and Garcia holding the contract and revealing it to the world. “Devil is in the details. April 15 let’s go!!! @kingryan @gervontaa” he wrote.

It looks like the negotiations are on and going well between the two parties. However, fans will be praying that both parties can come to terms with each other and let the two face each other on April 15th for one of boxing’s biggest matchups.
